Dragon’s Fire Megaways – Red Tiger Gaming

score: 8 / 10

Red Tiger Gaming was one of the first developers to get a license from Big Time Gaming, to use their Megaways technology. As a result, we have the pleasure of playing slots like Dragon’s Luck Megaways, Golden Leprechaun Megaways, Mystery Reels Megaways and, in our opinion, the best one, Dragon’s Fire Megaways.

Dragon’s Fire was first launched in 2018 as a regular slot with five reels, 40 paylines and a max win of 10,000 x bet. It’s a beautiful slot and one of Red Tiger Gaming’s biggest successes to date.

Making Dragon’s Fire into a Megaways slot is a great idea and with six reels, up to 117,649 paylines, high volatility and a RTP of 95,72%, you can look forward to wins of up to 10,470 x bet.

Dragon’s Fire Megaways – features

The original Dragon’s Fire has been a big hit among players in recent years, and it has been prominent on several “Top Win” lists from casinos such as Casumo Casino.

As a Megaways slot, Red Tiger Gaming hasn’t changed the slot more than they had to and luckily they’ve kept original features like Fire Blast. The feature will randomly add up to 4 wilds or 2 scatters to the reels, dramatically increasing your chances of big wins and free spins.

The Dragon’s Egg Multiplier also plays a big part, offering a boost of up to 50 x winnings. Now add to that the Dragon’s Eye Boost feature which can enhance the Egg multiplayer by a further x 10, and you understand why Dragon’s Fire was such a huge success to begin with.

Free spins are won in the same way as on the original slot. In other words you need to keep an eye out for the three scatter symbols. Now you will be given a choice between three Dragons that all hide a number of free spins. Pick the right dragon and you could win up to 20 free spins.

During free spins, the Dragon’s Egg Multiplier will not reset if you get a non-winning spin such as it does in the main game. A great bonus is that if the multiplier is active when you land three scatters in the main game, the multiplier will carry over to free spins giving you a head start at potential big payouts.

Dragon's Kindness

Last but not least, is the Dragon’s Kindness feature that can be randomly triggered if you land only to scatter symbols. The dragon could then, out of the kindness of his heart, fill the reels with fire and give you the third needed scatter.

Design & graphics

The original Dragon’s Fire was a beautiful slot with great graphics and a great soundtrack. We love the fact that Red Tiger Gaming have chosen to make the slot into a Megaways slot and by doing so enhancing all its beauty in a marvelous way.

The mighty dragon plays a much bigger part in the Megaways version and Red Tiger Gaming are really showing off their animation skills. Personally I am not the biggest fan of the asian theme for the simple reason that it has been used for too long on too many slots. That being said, if all “asian slots” came with the same amount of attention to detail and quality as Dragon’s Fire Megaways has, it could easily be our favourite theme.

Where to play Dragon's Fire Megaways slot

Red Tiger Gaming is not the biggest developer, but after being taken over by NetEnt in 2019 you can expect the number of casinos offering slots from Red Tiger Gaming increasing radically.

What’s happened to good old slot machines?

Our spinning tin of joy has come a long way indeed; from chrome, gears, and levers, to lightning-fast buttons, reels, and pay lines – all masterfully blown into life thanks to some real state of the art video graphics. Many new video slots sport up to 5 reels. When it comes to how many pay lines a video slot can have these days, the numbers are as easy to predict as the winning numbers of a jackpot, they’re simply up in the air. Some games come with fixed pay lines, while other slots give you the possibility to bet on paylines. New paylines can suddenly pop up and offer something fun and exciting while playing, like free spins, for example, all video slots are a bit different, just like the number of pay lines and your gaming options. At Casino Hacks we think this is just great, because players are different, and we all favor different games and features. Just remember, before you spin away, go a little easy on the betting. If you’re new to the online casino and slot games, a free spin run is a smart way to start, just so you get the knack of the game and different features.

New slots = new options

Options and new chances really are the name of the game here, so naturally, slot providers are constantly working on finding new smart ways to add surprising and fun bonus features. We see this all the time when new popular slots hit the casinos, packed with new options – all there to give you as a player another chance to win for example via an extra free spin or an entertaining boost option, like a multiplier feature.

Classic slots & branded masterpieces

Truly great slots become classics, like Gonzo’s Quest, Starburst – and reviews are always a smart way to get more out of the games. Reviews of branded slots are especially smart to check out since the RTP – the return to player figures – for branded slots sometimes can be as generous as the Night King in the epic saga. This is not always the case for all branded slots of course, and we’re not saying here that this is the case for GOT either, just pointing out some facts. When it comes to quality and entertainment levels, we’ve seen some astonishing development in the last couple of years where some truly amazing movie and TV concepts have been crafted into epic video slots – Game of Thrones, Jurassic World, Gladiator, Planet of the Apes, Age of Spartans, Jumanji, Beowulf, Mighty Kong, Jungle Books, Emoji Planet and Beauty and the Beast, to name a few.

What we look for when reviewing slots

Let’s take an example, it’s much easier that way. Let’s take a great slot, one we really love, let’s go for Jammin’ Jars. Now, this is a pearl of a slot because of the potential it’s got, to be precise, the theoretical potential here is 20 000X. Volatility, on the other hand, can be brutal, so make sure you manage your bankroll. If you manage your bankroll, keep your cool and play this slot the smart way, it might just show you the way to some serious cash. But, like with all slots, you can never be sure, of course.

– RTP: Return to player figures are at 96.51, not bad at all.

– Volatility: High. You might want to stay calm and wait for the bonus game when that comes along, you can get lucky.

– Overall impression: A gem of a game. Stay cool and stick to your game plan and this can be a winner.
